TREK THE WESTERN HIMALAYAS

Explore this iconic multiday remote and wild hikes in the Western Himalayas, passing through some of the most beautiful, wild and remote places along the way.

You can opt for the classic trips, or our shorter versions that takes in all the highlights. Either way, you'll experience the Western Himalayas in all their glory as you hike past glaciers, through high altitude dry deserts, mountain passes, beautiful villages and valleys, rugged high mountains, serene rivers, heartwarming people, unique culture, old monasteries, Himalayan wild animals and across flower-filled meadows. Our trips are fully guided, and your luggage will be transported between hotels, leaving you with no more to think about than enjoying every moment.

ROCK CLIMBING

Realize your climbing goals with us. We offer custom made rock climbing packages, individual climbs or educational Rock Climbing Courses. You can contact us for further suggestions tailored to your level and experience. We also organize Rock Climbing Trips to our favorite climbing areas across Ladakh.

Hikers who wish to discover the vertical world in a more conservative manner may be interested in our climbs which nicely blend hiking and climbing on steep terrain in less technical style.

ALPINE CLIMBING

We offer ascents of the most prestigious summits of the Western Himalayas. If you dream about mountaineering, dream large: Nun, Kun, Dzo Jongo …. all is possible. Our guides will help you to prepare for these climbs and our office staff will organize all the logistics.

We are in the process of developing a portfolio of Western Himalayas Greatest Climbs and most Classic Climbs. The routes are handpicked by our guides as their favorites due to their beauty, interesting itinerary and impressive setting. You can climb iconic summits such as the Kangyatse, Reponi Malai Ri or Dzo Jongo.

Our Mountaineering Courses will also be soon operational and will be highly instructional following a set curriculum. We have developed these with the aim to help to transform people into independent alpine climbers. We teach climbing techniques and safety skills applicable on rock, snow and ice terrain.

WINTER MOUNTAINEERING COURSES

Winter Alpine climbing courses with རི Ri Guides. Our courses range from beginner level which is suitable for those with no alpine or climbing experience whatsoever, up to advanced level for those who dream of summiting a Himalayan peak. Techniques such as belaying, rappelling and ropework will become second nature on both rock, ice and snow using equipment such as harnesses, axes, ice tools and crampons. You’ll not only learn new skills and develop existing ones, but you’ll do so in some of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring terrain in the world. All our instructors are qualified high mountain guides and are passionate about sharing their expertise and experience with you. ICE CLIMBING COURSES

Ice climbing courses in Leh and Nubra with རི Ri Guides. Leh and Nubra Valley offer some of the best ice climbing in the Western Himalayas. The variety of terrain on our doorstep is excellent and travelling across the Khardungla Pass is part of the joy of being in such a great location. Our local ice crag at Gangles in Leh is one of our favourite day trips to train. In condition and available for a relatively short period of the season from December to March, ice climbing is an exhilarating and rewarding winter activity not to be overlooked while here in Ladakh. No prior experience is necessary as we will provide full instruction and all required equipment can be rented via རི Ri Guides. We are keen to organise private ice climbing trips for climbers of all levels from beginners to experts. Our qualified mountain guides are passionate about ice climbing and will be delighted to share their expertise with you.
